Oh, Ocean

Oh over arching ocean

I cannot tumble quite like your turbulence

cannot rise to your

constant commotion of motion

…weak are these waves

having worn away

the colors of the sand they broke upon—

a little too broken

from the breaking in

Oh over arching ocean

where quite do you end

quiet beauty…thunderous journeys begin?

Rushing upon the legs of the lost

how is it you forgo the bend for the breakthrough?

For some might say, after all you’ve washed away

land must stand barren once again

But somehow, far-reaching ocean

you hold such soul within; so unbroken

for the world’s most breaker of sighs

I cannot rise as I used to like you

Oh ocean—I lost the ways waters

like yours

only need be and breathe to survive…
