Lost My Place

I lost my place

I know not where between the words

or when the pause was placed

…having walked on many a long day ago

I lost my place

I pray you know

I never intended to leave so abruptly—

only some part of me became weary of the rest

I lost my place

This is a state where I love still I envy

all which is hiding or absent in me

I lost my place

short and long lines misplaced

in the telling of my soul

And I’m left here wondering

where tomorrow it might go…
