Forgiveness Allows

I could forgive you

let my dreams leave me there
Though if I could believe you
we’d be suspended in the air
But how do we dream the sadness through
when we’re not supposed to care
The years growing longer
or perhaps I just grew stronger
I’ll be the one with the want to survive
whispering I won’t leave the memories behind
I could forget you
wipe my heart like a slate
but I’d still be weaker
with illusions of how love is made
so silent and afraid
I could forgive you
let my dreams leave you there
I pray heaven retrieves you
but I’ll keep loving you away
My soul was too tall for a lifetime built inside a wall of pain
but may love let me forgive you
because I know for the lost it’s never too late…
