Yellow Moon

There’s a question in her eyes
As she waits for the night to bid her goodbye
Will she be woken again?
She longs to feel how beautiful must feel
Although she believes she’s never quite possessed appeal
…the voices outside make her pause too soon

Inside she feels like a yellow moon
Waiting on spring and hopeful like June
That’s not the face they turned to see
She hid it somewhere in another dream

Will she ever be as graceful
As the hearts born so effortlessly to bliss?
Why does love have to paint itself
In perfect lines so picturesque?
Because any colour she’s seen she doesn’t believe
Though when she’s stillness dancing with the stars
Inside she feels like a yellow moon
Waiting on spring and hopeful like June
