Souls Who Shine

The souls who shine
Such a rare sight to see
But in my hour of decline
At least they are lifting me
Allowing me to breathe
Although they do so unknowingly

The souls who shine
Instil strength in me
To hold steadily to what is mine
Even when having to lie of belief
Because faith is too far behind
And time stands still haughtily

The souls who shine
Reach the heart softly through the strains of the mind
A rare blessing they remain
Often for granted in self-inflicted pains
A small remnant of joy they sustain
In a soul as astray as me

Souls who shine can still through tears be seen
You can even close your eyes; but don’t forget to dream
