Golden Raindrop

To her, that smile spreads to his eyes,
Makes her spirit alive and free of pain,
Her heart finally knows the reason
Why she finds herself knee deep in love,
A victim to this rain
Quiet like his light, unassuming and glorious,
Grey turned golden showers.

Greater words she never spoke,
Silencing herself as they cannot escape her,
By the sunset she settles to the warmth of this lie,
That she never held this world in her hands,
Only to, with one simple sigh, let it pass her by…

Still she can’t keep seeking love,
Turned and tossed, overwhelmed by the waves,
An appeaser to these emotions that only cause strain,
All if only the rush could save her again;
Because she feels safer—a thousand miles into dreamland.

To her, that smile spreads to his eyes,
Makes her spirit alive and free of pain,
She can’t hear her heart when it’s torn,
Though the unknown is wiser than the same
Fairytale sparkling in her dreams,
Never as beautiful as he,
This precious gift— to finally reach her soul…

A victim to this rain,
She watches the last golden raindrop,

And she prays for it to linger…
