Dying Wish

Will I rest
In silence and expectations?
I’ve had my share of loose ends,
Should have gotten used to these revelations.
I have gone and played my part all wrong,
Words spoken beg to be forgotten before too long.

I want to pull out all the strength,
Cleverly convincing me it’s mine,
And see you in another time,
The space between memories grown,
Hold on to my forever in a moment you will never know.

Will I keep company
With this sweetly slow sunset?
I won’t leave tomorrow with another regret,
Though I will watch the stars trace my dying wish,
To the sound of breaking hearts…

This foolish girl reaches out to you,
Although she knows…
Cause heartache is what dying wishes do…
