Signs

I picked up where you left off
And decided on goodnight
Took my pain for one more gain
And hid behind your light

Now it’s one more wish I won’t let die
And I’ll turn to face it one last time
Because there’s one last tear I refuse to cry
I can’t dwell inside this hopeless midnight

So though I take another look at the reflection

All I see are signs
And this quiet flash of memory to my eyes
I turn around from the images and the sounds
They turn my heart and steal my sights
When all I see are the signs
It’s so hard to leave these dreams behind

And when you’re counting down the seconds to goodbye
You almost miss the butterfly melting warmth of a kiss
That’s such an imprint on your mind
Even though you make false memories of bliss
And long for something you could never find

I try to cease this soul from dying inside…

All I see are signs
And this quiet flash of memory to my eyes
I turn around from the images and the sounds
They turn my heart and steal my sights
When all I see are the signs
It’s so hard to leave these dreams behind

I picked up where you left off
And decided on goodnight…
