The Broken Curse

There’s so much I can’t change,
Anger through the windowpane,
The voice distorted in the night,
Two ways to run, which is right?

I sang a nothing song,
Turned into something when he came along,
Gray turns to green, green to hazel and
I am lost in the shades,
He knows I’ve found my own strength,
And even when I’m afraid,
Shares a smile anyway…

There’s so much I can’t change,
Still I have to know that’s okay,
He might not take my heart by the reins,
But I’ll keep on riding,
Keep this heart driving,

On and on throughout the pain,
On and on with time to gain.

I speak a nothing verse,
I wrote it as a curse,
A curse against myself—
He picked me up before I fell.
How is he all that’s right?
Because he has a smooth sweet touch,
And that voice I miss so much.

How I will never be the same…

I wrote this as my curse,
Now I’m dancing in the rain…
